Adaptive Paddling Guide
This guide is intended to support inclusive paddling by emphasizing the importance of understanding how to make the sport accessible, safe, and welcoming for people with disabilities. While it addresses many aspects of inclusion, it cannot eliminate all risk or replace experience and training. Paddling, like all outdoor activities, involves inherent risks that are best managed through education, preparation, and thoughtful decision-making. Experienced facilitators are trained to mitigate risk to acceptable levels, and while this guide does not provide expertise to the inexperienced, well-intentioned volunteers can offer safe paddling experiences when they commit to learning, use sound judgment, and take every possible care.
